II.1.4) Short description

The Council invites tenders for the provision of employment agency services for periods of short term cover.

It is intended that the tender will cover the full range of administrative, clerical, technical, professional and manual posts within Council.

The appointed agency/agencies will only be engaged for short term provision of services to further support and supplement Councils recruitment activity.

II.1.4) Short description

The Council invites tenders for the provision of employment agency services for periods of short term cover.

It is intended that the tender will cover the full range of administrative, clerical, technical, professional and manual posts within Council.

The appointed agency/agencies will only be engaged for short term provision of services to further support and supplement Councils recruitment activity.

The Council will appoint up to 3 preferred suppliers at the lowest cost to Council who will be required to provide a suitable agency worker within 3 working days of the requirement having been notified to the agency.

The highest scoring or lowest cost supplier will be approached first if the appointed agency fails to meet the standard, the requirement will pass to the next supplier on the preferred list.

This contract will take effect from the commencement date and remain in force for 1 year with the option of 2 further 1 year extensions to give a total 3 year contract. The contract will be reviewed after 12 months.

The commencement date will be no later than late 2019/early 2020.

This figure was significantly higher than the previous 3 years due to major restructuring within leisure services. It is anticipated that there will be a significant reduction in this current year. Council is committed to delivering a targeted reduction in agency spends and therefore no agency expenditure is guaranteed.

Salaries will be as the agreed salary for the role as per Council’s pay scales which will be subject to NJC increases as Council is required to comply with.
