II.1.4) Short description

The procurement concerns

The Institute of Marine Research would like to hire 2 combined ring net/trawl vessel simultaneously for 14 days to test quantity measurements of the stock of capelin in the Barents Sea during spawning.

The goal is to get the best possible quantity measurements of the capelin spawn stock in the Barents Sea, in order to evaluate whether this can be included in advice.

The mission is mainly an acoustic trawl mission with acoustic measurements along pre-set course lines and pelagic trawling where there are registrations. In addition, there will be measurements with sonar, and acoustic measurements of the strength of the measurements can also be required with the tenderer's own equipment that is brought on board. The mission will be carried out with two vessels in order to get good coverage of the area.

A research quota of 50 tonnes has been set aside for sample taking, 25 tonnes per vessel.

The mission is scheduled to start in Tromsø and end in Hammerfest. The mission will be carried out in the southern part of the Barents Sea, along the Finnmark coast.

Scope of the contract

The procurement is for 2 vessels that will work together and simultaneously. Each vessel will be hired for a 14-day mission.

Tenders can be submitted for one vessel or 2 vessels. A tender must be submitted for each vessel. The tenders will be dealt with separately in the contest.

The contract's duration

The contract will be valid for 14 mission days, as a starting point the period will be 26.2.2020-11.3.2020. If the vessel needs to be mobilised and calibrated first, the mission will start as soon as the vessel is ready after this.

Mobilisation and demobilisation are not included in the mission period, but must be included in the daily rate for the mission days. Mobilisation of the vessel is estimated to take approx. 24 hours before the mission starts. The mission and hire period will start when the vessel has been mobilised and calibrated. The lessee has access to extend and/or shorten the lease for up to 2 days if there is a justifiable reason for doing so.
