Visokoenergijski ionski nanožarek oblikujejo ionske magnetne kvadrupolne leče, ki so postavljene na pripadajočo precizno poravnalno mehaniko. Poravnalna mehanika mora omogočati njihovo mehansko poravnavo z natančnostjo velikostnega reda stotinke milimetra, in to med obratovanjem nanožarka. Nanožarek med meritvijo ali implantacijo premikamo po vzorcu. Premikanje žarka po vzorcu lahko izvedemo z odklanjanjem žarka iz optične osi, ali z mehanskim premikanjem vzorca. Ponudnik bo dobavil kvadrupolne leče s poravnalno mehaniko, sistem za odklanjanje žarka, motoriziran sistem za premikanje vzorca v visokem vakuumu, in računalniški kontrolni sistem za nadzor odklanjanja žarka, premikanje vzorca, za zajem podatkov signalov z detektorjev delcev in fotonov v odvisnosti od pozicije žarka na vzorcu, bodisi ob odklanjanju žarka pri mirujočem vzorcu, ali ob premikanju vzorca ob mirujočem žarku.
