Public Internet access is currently filtered by a number of locally hosted Lightspeed Rocket appliances. Following the move to reduce reliance on the Civic centre by making use of cloud services such as Azure and Office 365, the on-premise solution now represents a reliance on the Civic Centre for internet security, and has presented a number of issues integrating with the new infrastructure. Modern Cloud Security products offer the ability to proxy traffic without the need to backhaul it through the corporate network and use local breakouts for Office 365, also allowing always-on protection for mobile and home users.
